Uff da!  'da wife seems to think we need rules and regulations
to help guide folks in deciding what and how much to bring to the
Themed Pot-Luck Open Houses.

So, here are 'da official
Rules and Regulation.
  • Bring enough to share.  Some folk may only want a taste, but others may really like it and want to take a hearty helping.
  • Please provide a serving utensil (spoon, etc.).  We have some, but we may not have enough.
  • Please provide your food by 2pm, so everyone has a chance to try your offering.
  • If you provide a recipe card, we would be glad to write it up and add it to our collection of recipes (especially if it includes one of our beverages).
  • We will supply power (if it comes in a crock pot and needs to be kept warm).  We will also supply plasticware, plates & bowls.
  • If you would prefer to bring something outside of the theme - they are welcome too.  Especially appetizers or desserts.
  • Only two votes per person for the peoples' choice award - winners will be announced about 4:30.  Entries providing a Recipe will get an extra vote.  Recipes using our beverages will get an extra vote.
  • As hard as we will try to provide a safe and enjoyable time, participation is at your own risk and you acknowledge you will not hold us liable for any nasty side effects.

May 17 - Minnesota Hot Dish

What makes your family casserole a classic Minnesota Hot Dish?
The protein (Chicken, Beef, Tuna, Tofu, etc.)?  The vegetables (french fried onions, broccoli, etc.)? 
The noodles?  Served Hot or Cold?  The glue that holds it together (Cream of Mushroom, Cheese, etc.)?
 
June 14 - Kettle of Soup/Stew

What makes your family soup or stew a favorite?
Cream base?  Broth base?  Added ingredients like Meat, Vegetables, Noodles or Rice?
 
July 12 - Chili Cook-off

Okay, we know there are some chili fanatics out there.
What makes your chili deserving of a Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon?
Beans or no beans?  Beef, Chicken, or some other protein?  Red or White?
We may need multiple categories depending on the crowd.
 
August 9 - Summer Salads

We are expecting some warm weather, so time for a salad.
Is your favorite salad made of greens, fruit, pasta, vegetables, or jell-o?
Or some exciting blend of these and other ingredients.
 
September 13 - Pies

This may be Mark's ultimate dream.
Fruit pies.  Chocolate pies.  Cream pies.
Shepard's pie.  Chicken pot pie.  Cottage pie.
The spectrum of options seems endless and an epicurean delight.
By the way, did we mention that this day would also be Mark's 59th birthday?
